Our journey began with a vision to bring a dedicated focus to the utilities industry. We recognised the challenges faced over ten years ago with the start of RIIO-based regulation and noted the need for specialised DNO business knowledge. As business applications and IT services companies were concentrating more on large, generic solutions, we decided to focus on what has become an increasingly complex industry.
After two years of specialism, we rapidly noted the lack of industry-specific applications that exist as products. The benefits for a utility in having an industry-specific application product have already been seen with Octopus in the Energy Retail sector.
Over the last eight years of working collaboratively across multiple DNOs and utility companies, we have continuously refined our CHIME application. CHIME has been built by the industry for the industry. The benefits are remarkable, ranging from faster business improvement to lower project implementation and ownership costs. Most of all, we have received positive affirmation from the field teams, the best source of productivity gains.
